Meet Angelina Valente & JP Hubbs, the duo behind Nook & Cranny. ​

Angelina and JP are a musical duo from opposite ends of New York’s Capital Region, brought together by a shared love of all things music. Angelina Valente studied Musical Theatre (BM - Musical Theatre, 2015), while JP Hubbs studied Piano (BFA - Piano & Music Business, 2015).

But their paths crossed in 2017 when they both joined an eight-piece bluegrass band. What started as a big group collaboration quickly revealed a deeper musical connection and a desire to explore more as a duo.

They now play music together all over the Capitol Region and teach at their studio in Mechanicville, NY.

One Lesson Per Week Rate:
$160/Month - Half Hour Lessons
$320/Month - Hour Lessons

Non-Weekly Rate:

Calendar:

We follow the Saratoga Springs School schedule to better allow families to plan further in advance. (EXCEPT: Due to so many holidays on Mondays, we will be open Monday 1/19, 9/21, 12/21 to make up for the days that would have otherwise been lost so all students get the same amount of lessons over the course of the year.)

Week-long breaks will align with Saratoga Schools.

Cancellation Policy:

Missed Lessons:
Makeups are not guaranteed for lessons or classes missed by the student. We do not offer refunds or credits for missed lessons or cancelled lessons, in general.

Student Rescheduling:
If you want to schedule a makeup lesson directly contact your instructor to reschedule at least 24 hours before the lesson you want to reschedule. A lesson cancelled less than 24 hours before lesson time does not require a makeup and will be left up to the discretion or availability of the teacher. If a teacher is not available for a makeup, you will not be able to schedule a makeup lesson, and no credit or refund will be offered for the missed lesson. 

Teacher Cancellations:
Lessons canceled by instructors will be made up at a future date. This can be in-person, remote, or through a video lesson that the teacher will pre-record and send for you to do at your leisure or download to use for future dates as well.

Credits/refunds will only be offered if a makeup is not feasible. If a makeup lesson is unavailable, teacher cancellations will be credited toward the following month's lessons at the rate of $40 for half hour, $80 for hour.

Snow Days:
Lessons during snow/weather emergencies will be done either remotely or or through a video lesson that the teacher will pre-record and send for you to do at your leisure or download to use for future dates as well.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Do I need to have a piano?
Yes! Having an instrument at home to practice on is necessary. Ask us about for recommendations and  individualized accessories for your instrument, such as music stands, metronomes, etc. that will best suit your needs.

Can you describe the lessons?
Our lessons are fun and relaxed. We will create an individualized learning pathway geared to what works best for you. We address the fundamentals, theory, and essential skills while still meeting the student's individualized goals. From kids to adults, you will learn the music you love, at your own pace!

​How many lessons do I get per month?
Lessons are once per week, for either: a half-hour at $160 a month, or 1 hour at $320/month. There are no lessons on holidays (with some Monday exceptions) or school breaks, but it's still the same price every month, regardless of how many weeks there are. It averages to four lessons a month, although sometimes there will be three or five lessons. The policy helps things stay consistent, which is essential for your musical progress. Our lessons continue during the summer months and times can be more flexible with children not having school.
